All essays and learning logs are scored according to the rubric attached. The scores provide evidence of student performance.
Student Essay #1
We used a tape measure to measure out a square that was eight feet wide and eight feet long. We put sticks in each corner. We checked our measurements to make sure wwe were right. We had to decide what plants we wanted to put in our garden. Some plants need more space than others. For example, a tomato needs one foot of garden space. Lettuce can be planted four times in one foot of garden space.
Student Essay #2
We measured the garden so that each side was eight feet long. We put sticks in each corner. We tied string to each stick so that we could see our garden space better. We decided to plant tomatoes,lettuce,peppers,carrots and cabbage.We learned that some plants need more space than others.
